[ Is this a thing. Like a thing she's supposed to be doing? Was she aware this was supposed to be a thing? Skye's brain is a tiny bit derailed for a minute because for some reason despite all the various things and words that have been tossed around between the two of them this has utterly derailed her.
UM.
Her first panicked response is to not go home and go off birding in a tree for a while, but, thankfully, Skye's at least gotten a little better and so doesn't go with this urge.]
She had to get all the way back home first, and then take the moment to actually sit there and think about it, looking the flowers over, sitting in her nest with a small smile on her face and a feeling she didn't know how to name.]
[ Skye sort of just comes downstairs while she's thinking and she's feeling brave and cared for, stepping into the doorway. Her feet shift awkwardly against the floor. It's still going to take her a second to actually get around to talking talking. She's a pile of issues sometimes.]
So. How hilarious were people's reactions to a horse buying flowers?
[He'd been waiting not so patiently for her to arrive, rearranging his odd little nest bed a few times over. Several of his blankets are hanging over his back via his tendrils when she finally makes her appearance and he startles slightly, gaze snapping over to the doorway as he sits back on his haunches oddly.]
...I think the reaction to me carrying them home in my mouth was even more hilarious, honestly.
[ Skye laughs at the image and wanders over, talons clicking against the ground as she walks and she sits down next to him, feathers shifting in her hair.]
[A small smile accompanies the statement before it melts into something kind of shy as she draws closer, the kelpie shifting nervously as the harpy comes to sit beside him.]
I just--I wanted...to do something for you. Something like I would have done back home if I was brave enough.
[She smiles at him and pulls up her knees, talons clicking against each other and Skye bumps his shoulder with hers.]
Well, I happen to I think you're pretty brave.
[And then Skye pauses and just looks at him for a moment.]
Do you think you-...[Do you think you would've back home. What do you think happens to us when we get home. Skye thinks about it sometimes and doesn't know how she feels. Time distortions, weird loops. All of that. It makes her head hurt sometimes. She decides against saying it and continues slightly differently.]
[If he could blush properly, he would be. As it is, he just ducks his head, the tendrils on his back quivering.]
Thank you.
[He had never considered himself brave before but it was kind of..nice to hear it from someone.
His gaze shifts back to her when she starts to ask him something, head tilting as he waits for her to ask but she doesn't. The kelpie doesn't try to pry though and just smiles softly instead.]
[She rests her head against his shoulder, she's smiling and quiet, and her feathers move again against her skull. The longer ones twitch and shift and Skye thinks to herself for a moment, remembering a moment in Rota and her conversation with Ward about memories and things that were important. She opens out her arm, and runs her finger along the contour feathers until she finds one she agrees on, and plucks it. It was loose already, the odd sensation a little like someone pulling a hair or three from her head. She spins the feather between her fingers holding it out to him. ]
I had less time to find you something, what can I say. Also I've never done the whole Valentines thing before. Like, ever.
[She's babbling, unsure if the gesture is a good one, or if it seems silly. She thinks it might be good. She hopes it is.]
